At first glance it is easy to dismiss homeless people.
They are drug addicts, abusers and good-for-nothings.
They are lazy, troublemakers and are always looking for a handout
While these statements may seem truthful by superficial observations, their accuracy is far from the mark.
Every individual you see on the street, pushing a cart or sleeping on a bench comes with a story.
Some stories have elements of
abuse, addiction and lack of opportunity.
However, these stories also include events like
divorce, lay offs and loss of a loved one.
Some stories include serving time in the military only to return home perpetually tormented by PTSD.
Everyone has a story, many of which would break our hearts if we just took the time to sit and talk with those in our path.
