Last month Family Promise of Bradley County had their annual fundraiser banquet, but there were some changes this year. This year was different from others in which the banquet became a luncheon! Trying out new things, especially with fundraising, can be scary or even nerve wrecking, but that was not the case with this change. There was a different crowd because of the time change but there was a good-sized crowd which may be enough incentive to keep this change for years to come. There was also a push for an hour only event, and we kept that promise for everyone in attendance.
We had some wonderful speakers that wholeheartedly embrace our mission since they are graduates of our program. The speakers were a mother and daughter who graduated last year. What better way to explain the importance of our program than by people who have benefited from our services? The speakers provided two interesting insights for those in the audience that knew little of our program and brought reassurance to those who do know our program. Family Promise is all about homeless families with children and was thoughtful to hear what a child had to say about her experience in the program.
Family Promise of Bradley County continues to grow with the help of our volunteers and donors that want to contribute to ending homelessness. Thank you to everyone who attended and volunteered during the event, but the work is far from over. Our eyes are set on our next event: Cleveland Circuit Ride is having its third annual family friendly event October 7 at 9 am. You can check out our website page for more information on our next event as well as ways that you can become involved with a wonderful program within your community.
